Harris A. Cahn

Mr. Cahn, an attorney for the better part of the past forty years, began his real estate career in 1971 as a principal in real estate development and syndication opportunities. From 1974 to the present he has been a general partner in various entities involved in the acquisition, development and construction of strip centers, office buildings and commercial and residential real estate projects.

In the mid to late 1980’s Mr. Cahn and his partners commenced the purchase, development, sale and/or syndication of residential and commercial real estate properties in the resort areas of Colorado, particularly in Aspen and the Vail Valley. Over the next twenty years, he and several partners purchased, developed and sold commercial and residential properties valued in excess of $140 million. They currently have investments in and manage residential and commercial projects and properties on the East Coast, Denver and Aspen, Colorado.

In 1983 Mr. Cahn became a co-founder and board member of Major League Marketing, Inc. which merged into Pinnacle Brands, Inc. in the early 1990’s. Pinnacle Brands owned the baseball and sports trading card brands “Score”, “Pinnacle”, and “Donruss” which collectively held one of the largest market shares of the sports trading card business through the trading card mania of the late 1980’s and early 1990’s.

In the early 1990’s Mr. Cahn formed Cahn and Partners, LLC, a mortgage banking entity that underwrote and invested private equity capital in loans to businesses, real estate projects and individuals in New York, Colorado and California.

Mr. Cahn presently serves on the Board of Directors of:

Pelstar, LLC, of Bridgeview, Illinois, manufacturer of Health-O-Meter professional scales (and formerly the Pelouze postal and food service brands sold in early 2006.);
New Jersey Headwear Corp., the oldest “Made in America - union-made” headwear manufacturer in the U.S. and Unionwear.com, manufacturers of clothing for labor unions;
Alpine Capital Partners, LLC, residential real estate developers; and
Aspen Capital Group, LLC, equity based mortgage lenders and investors.

Mr. Cahn is a graduate of Rutgers College for Men and Seton Hall University School of Law. Shortly after a clerkship at Phillips, Nizer, Benjamin, Krim & Ballon in New York City, he became a founder and name partner in a law firm until 1990 when he withdrew to pursue real estate and venture capital opportunities. During his tenure with the firm his areas of concentration were litigation and transactional matters. He remains admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the United States District Court and the Bar of the State of New Jersey.

Mr. Cahn, a resident of Aspen since 1985, was Vice Chairman of the Aspen Community Institute Committee and a former member of the Aspen-Santa Fe Ballet National Council. In addition, he had been Associate Chairman of the MetroWest Federation of New Jersey, and a member of the Roseland, New Jersey Board of Education.

Mr. Cahn has been married to his wife Elaine for more than forty years. They have three married children and four grandchildren.
